Smart search
The default mode intelligently shows the most relevant content and suits most searches.
Exact search
Matches all keywords, making this useful when the search criteria are clear.
Broad search
Matches at least one keyword, making this useful when the name is uncertain or you want more results.
Filters and sorting

How to verify results
- Check the name and file list: Similar titles can differ, while internal paths and sizes provide stronger evidence.
- Check the Infohash: An Infohash is a stable identifier for the same BitTorrent metadata and supports comparison across sources.
- Note the indexed date: It records when the index received the metadata, not the publication or file creation date.
- Understand availability: Being indexed does not mean that files are currently available, complete, or lawful.
Frequently asked questions
Does OpenBT provide file downloads?
No. OpenBT only searches and displays public BitTorrent metadata and does not participate in file transfers.
Why does a result count show 10,000+?
When there are many results, the page may only confirm the minimum number found. A plus sign means there may be more.
Why can the file list be shorter than the file count?
Search results and detail pages may show only some files. Use the displayed file count as the total.
